Taste and sensory characteristics

A wine of Hungarian origin created in 1960 when Dr. Károly Bakonyi crossed the Irsai Oliver and Gewürztraminer varieties in the village of Cserszegtomaj. A wine with a pale yellow hue, bringing in its aroma the freshness and generosity of the grapevine, which was born in a vineyard in the Dubová area of Chľaba. The aroma is characterized by floral and fruity tones as well as concentrated exotic spices. The taste is full, initially harmonizing with the aroma of citrus and followed by yellow fruits and spicy muscat aromas. The presence of minerals is more complex than is typical for Cserszegi fűszeres. This is due to the volcanic soil in Chľaba, where the grapevine is grown, as well as to the unique microclimate. Ideally the wine will be served with lighter dishes, such as chicken or salmon salads.
